What we collect, what we do not, and how to unsubscribe.

The New Way is a free weekday email about AI coding. This page says what we collect, what we don't, and how to get rid of us. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Your email address

If you subscribe, we store your email address and nothing else about you — no name, no company, no job title, because we never ask. You confirm the subscription by clicking a link we send you, so a stray address typed by someone else never becomes a subscriber.

We use your address to send the issue. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to a sponsor. If an issue ever carries an ad, the advertiser gets a slot, never the list.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also reply and ask; a person reads every reply.

Analytics

We count readers so we know whether any of this is working. Two tools do it:

  • Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies in your browser.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics, which does not set cookies.

They tell us how many people visited, which pages they read, and roughly where in the world they were. They do not tell us who you are, and neither is connected to your email address.

Cookies and your choice

The first time you visit, a notice at the bottom of the page asks whether to allow analytics cookies. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics stay off until you accept. Decline and they stay off; we still publish the same issue, and nothing else about the site changes.

Your answer is remembered in your own browser. Clearing your browser data asks you again.

Who else touches the data

The site and the mailing list run on Ghost, which stores the subscriber list and sends the email. Analytics go to Google and Ahrefs, as above. Those three are the whole list; we add nobody quietly.

How this page changes

If we add a tool that collects anything, this page changes on the same day, and the change is named here rather than slipped in. Last updated 22 September 2026.

How the issue is made

The New Way is written with AI. It gathers the day's stories, checks them against their sources and drafts every summary. A person decides what runs and reviews every issue before we hit send.
